The Number 1 Thing You Should Have on Your Vision Board for 2016 and Beyond

Think of everything you want to do. Everything you want to accomplish. Think of your biggest dream. Think of the goal you want to achieve. Now put all that to the side and ask yourself "is this what God wants me to do or just what I want to do?" I know. I know. The world says do what you love. Do what makes you happy. Basically do what you want. The problem with that is life isn't about you. We have one goal and one focus in this life: to make disciples. Don't let your ideas, visions, and plans get in the way of that.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with making a vision board. In fact if I was making one it would say two words: God's will. So if you plan on making a vision board, make one with God at the center. Ask Him, "Lord what visions do you have for me?"  And whatever he tells you put it on the board.

I want to fulfill God's vision for my life because I know that I can think of the most amazing thing possible. I can think of the biggest dream I have for myself. But at the end of the day nothing I come up with for myself would hold a candle to the vision and plan God has for my life. God will blow your mind. He's blown my mind time and time again. Everything I ever could have possibly wanted and then some has happened for me. It's just a reminder every time that God has better things in store for me than I have for myself.

So let's get our minds off ourselves and let's focus on God. Let's enter into 2016 determined to do His will and not our own. It won't be easy for this world says to focus on me me me but we are in this world not of it so let's focus on Him, Him, Him.

Here are some scriptures to help you keep your mind fixed on Him:

"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others." Philippians 2:3-4

"For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. "James 3:16

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5

"Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!" Psalms 27:14

"Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. "Proverbs 19:21

"For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him." Colossians 1:16
