Single & Hating It!

With Valentine's Day just around the corner it's time we tackle this topic of the dun dun dunnnnn, the single life.  Yeah I know a lot about that since I’ve never been in a relationship.  The single life can be hard especially if everyone you know is dating someone else or getting married or engaged or even having kids.  Thanks to facebook ;) I know plenty of girls I went to school with who are now either married and having babies or just got engaged. All of these relationship statuses are popping up from single to in a relationship or in a relationship to engaged or engaged to married.  It’s everywhere!  And sometimes it gets you down to know that you’re the only one who is still single. And you start to wonder Lord, when is it my time? Where is my man at? Where is my Boaz and my Adam? I’m saved, involved in church ministries, I spend time with you daily. What am I doing wrong? But I want to let you know that being single is such a blessing!

As a single this is your time to focus on your relationship with Christ.  You should be chasing after God and God alone. Not a man!  I see so many women Christian and non-Christians chasing after and looking for a man.  The Christian thirst is real y’all!  And I’m just like will you please chill.  God’s timing is perfect and in due time the Lord will have your Adam find you.  That’s right I said find you.  Not you find him.  One of my favorite quotes by Max Lucado is “A woman's heart should be so deep in God, that a man must seek Him to find her.”  In the meantime stop trying to play God and trying to find you a man.  Do you not trust God?  He has someone perfect set aside for you which he will reveal when he thinks you’re ready.  Clearly if he hasn’t given you your Adam God thinks you still have areas in which you need to develop.  So STOP going to the club wearing tight dresses serving as bait to hook your fish aka your man.   First off you shouldn’t be at the club if you’re a Christian like you say you are.  That environment will do nothing but pull you farther away from Christ not push you closer.  Secondly, you shouldn’t be wearing tight or skimpy anything!  Modesty is the best policy.  That doesn’t mean you have to dress like a nun, no disrespect to that community.  However, you can still dress cute and fashion forward without showing every bump, lump, and curve the good Lord gave you.  And lastly, you will not I repeat will not find a good godly man at the club.  You just won’t.  Sorry!  Don’t believe me?  Well let me tell you a little story about Adam and Eve.  Scripture says in Genesis 2:18,20-23,

The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” But for Adam no suitable helper was found.

So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.

The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.”

Do you see that?!  So God made Eve from Adam’s rib.  PRESENTED Eve to Adam.  Then the best part is immediately Adam said, this is bone of my bone.  He knew that was his woman! He knew that was the one God placed in his life.  There was no question about it.  Eve didn’t have to search for Adam at the club, wear tight clothes, drop it low and put herself out there.  God orchestrated it all!  How awesome is that?  So stay off and Christian mingle and let the Lord do his job.  You’re just messing things up.  God’s got your back! TRUST!  He’s the ultimate match maker.  God will hook you up with the perfect man.  You need to do nothing except lean and depend on Him to do His work.
